This life-size training torso was specifically designed to realistically practice the correct execution of the Heimlich maneuver and the wiping of the mouth to clear blocked airways . The model allows for a practical simulation of foreign body aspiration and provides a clear understanding of the correct technique and force application.
By applying sudden pressure to the upper abdomen and chest, the removal of a swallowed foreign object can be practiced realistically. If the Heimlich maneuver is performed correctly, the torso will visibly expel the foreign object. This provides immediate feedback and a particularly effective learning experience.
The torso is made of durable, lifelike plastic and accurately replicates the anatomy of the human upper body. Anatomical landmarks such as the rib cage, xiphoid process, and suprasternal notch are clearly defined and support secure hand positioning during exercise.
