The Erler-Zimmer foot skeleton with tibia and fibula attachments is an anatomical teaching model for illustrating the bony structures of the human foot, including the distal ends of the tibia and fibula. The model is based on a true-to-life cast and is designed for use in training, teaching, and clear demonstrations.
The bones of the foot are individually modeled and movably mounted on wire. Additionally, the lower portions of the tibia and fibula are integrated, revealing the anatomical relationships in the region of the ankle joint. This design allows for a detailed examination of the bony connection between the lower leg and foot, as well as the spatial arrangement of the structures involved.
The movable mounting allows for the demonstration of typical movement positions of the foot and upper ankle joint. The model supports the visual understanding of anatomical relationships in the foot and ankle area, particularly with regard to the bone connections involved.
This teaching model is intended for use in medical and anatomical training, including orthopedics, physiotherapy, sports medicine, and podiatry. It serves solely to illustrate anatomical structures and movement patterns and is not intended for diagnostic, therapeutic, or clinical applications. Use outside of its intended teaching and demonstration purpose is prohibited.
