The life-size model of a right human foot by Erler-Zimmer is an anatomical teaching and demonstration model for the detailed illustration of the muscular, tendinous, and ligamentous structures of the foot. Designed for use in training, instruction, and clear demonstrations, the model allows for a differentiated examination of the musculoskeletal system in the foot.
The model illustrates the interplay of muscles, tendons, ligaments, and retinacula in anatomically correct positions. The depicted muscles and tendons are made of a soft, flexible material that allows for a clear visual demarcation of the individual structures and clearly demonstrates their spatial arrangement. This makes the model particularly suitable for examining functional relationships in the areas of the dorsum of the foot, the sole of the foot, and the ankle joint.
The model is life-size and represents the right foot. It supports the visual understanding of the complex anatomy of the foot, including the superficial and deep muscle groups as well as the stabilizing ligaments and supporting structures. The representation is designed for a clear identification of the anatomical elements and serves solely for teaching, demonstration, and the clear explanation of anatomical relationships.
