The FAST1® Intraosseous Infusion System is a manually operated emergency device for establishing intraosseous access via the sternum. It is intended for situations where peripheral intravenous access is unavailable or cannot be established in a timely manner, particularly in advanced emergency care. The system allows for the administration of fluids and medications via the bone marrow space.
Sternal insertion is also applicable under conditions such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or with an immobilized cervical spine. The FAST1® system operates without a battery or external power source and is fully manual. Integrated depth control assists with correct placement, eliminating the need to select different needle lengths.
Gravity infusion allows flow rates of up to 80 ml/min, depending on the viscosity of the infusion solution and other clinical factors. The low-profile infusion lines are designed to lie flat, reducing the risk of accidental disconnection during patient movement. Weighing approximately 127.6 g and featuring a compact design, the system is suitable for use in emergency backpacks, ambulances, air ambulances, or tactical equipment.
The FAST1® Intraosseous Infusion System is indicated for adolescents and adults aged 12 years and older and is used in pre-hospital emergency medicine, emergency departments, intensive care units, disaster relief, and military operational environments.
Use only by appropriately trained medical personnel in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and applicable guidelines.
