The luxury demonstration child skull, 14 pieces, from Erler-Zimmer is an anatomical teaching model for the detailed presentation of the skull structures of a child around three years old. The model is based on a cast of a real human child's skull and is designed for use in advanced training and teaching contexts.
The child's skull can be disassembled into a total of 14 individual parts. These include a removable skullcap and a removable nasal septum. The individual components are connected to each other via metal and magnetic joints to allow for repeated assembly and disassembly during demonstrations.
The model allows insights into key anatomical areas such as the cranial fossae, the nasal cavity with its conchae, the pharynx, and the external auditory canal. A removable temporal bone enables the examination of the temporal structures. Additionally, venous sinus structures, including the sagittal, transverse, and sigmoid sinuses, as well as selected vascular pathways, are color-coded.
In the area of the dentition, the model shows both the primary teeth and the permanent teeth that have not yet erupted. This allows for a clear illustration of the developmental stages of the child's jaw and tooth buds.
The demonstration child skull is intended for use in medical, dental, and anatomical education, particularly in pediatric settings, as well as in the fields of otolaryngology, surgery, and ophthalmology. The model serves solely to illustrate anatomical relationships and is not intended for diagnostic, therapeutic, or clinical applications.
