Cutimed® Sorbact® Hydroactive B is a hydroactive wound dressing for the treatment of infected or contaminated wounds with low to moderate exudate. It combines a gel-forming, moisture-regulating component with Sorbact® technology for the physical binding of microorganisms.
Sorbact® technology is based on hydrophobic interactions. Bacteria and fungi with hydrophobic cell surfaces are irreversibly bound to the hydrophobic dressing surface and removed from the wound when the dressing is changed. This process occurs without chemical agents and without the release of antimicrobial substances. As a result, the dressing is non-cytotoxic and exhibits excellent tissue compatibility, even with repeated use.
The hydroactive gel structure supports a moist wound environment, promotes autolytic wound cleansing, and can contribute to the gentle removal of fibrinous debris. Cutimed® Sorbact® Hydroactive B is particularly suitable for the cleansing and inflammatory phases of chronic wounds and supports structured wound management in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
