Cutimed® Gel is a transparent, amorphous hydrogel designed to support the autolytic debridement process in chronic wounds. It softens and removes necrotic and fibrinous wound debris and promotes the body's natural wound cleansing mechanisms.
Through the continuous release of moisture, the hydrogel supports a moist wound environment, which is necessary for the autolytic breakdown of exudate. This gently removes dead tissue without mechanical or surgical intervention on healthy tissue. Cutimed® Gel is particularly suitable for wounds with impaired healing, such as those that can occur with diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, or postoperative wounds.
The gel's high viscosity and stability allow for precise application and ensure it remains securely in the wound bed. The product is transparent, facilitating visual assessment of the wound's condition. If necessary, the gel can be rinsed from the wound with physiological saline or Ringer's solution.
