The Erler-Zimmer arm skeleton with muscle markings is an anatomical teaching model for illustrating the bony structures of the human arm, excluding the shoulder girdle. The model is based on a true-to-life cast of an arm skeleton and is designed for use in training, teaching, and clear demonstrations.
The arm is equipped with a hand mounted on a wire, allowing it to move freely. This construction enables the demonstration of typical forearm movements, including the rotational movements of pronation and supination, as well as movements in the wrist area. The flexible mounting facilitates the visual examination of the spatial relationships between the forearm and hand bones.
For easier orientation, muscle origins and insertions are color-coded. Muscle origins are marked in red, and muscle insertions in blue. This color scheme serves to clearly illustrate muscular attachment points to bone and was developed in collaboration with teachers to facilitate the structured teaching of functional anatomy.
This model is intended for use in anatomical and medical education, particularly in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and movement studies. It serves solely to illustrate anatomical structures and functional relationships and is not intended for diagnostic, therapeutic, or clinical applications. Use outside of its intended teaching and demonstration purpose is prohibited.
