Algoplaque Film is a transparent, self-adhesive wound dressing for the treatment of low-exuding, superficial wounds. Upon contact with wound exudate, the dressing forms a moist gel environment that supports physiological healing processes and creates a favorable environment for epithelialization.
The transparent film structure allows for continuous visual monitoring of the wound without having to remove the dressing. At the same time, the dressing is waterproof and bacteria-resistant, reliably protecting the wound from external influences. Its adaptability makes it suitable for various body regions and it can even be worn while showering or bathing.
Algoplaque Film is indicated for the local treatment of superficial ulcers, pressure sores, traumatic wounds, and sutured wounds, and for use during the epithelialization phase. The dressing should not be changed within the first 48 hours; for sutured wounds, a change interval of four to six days is recommended. The dressing is not suitable for infected or highly exuding wounds, nor for patients with known hypersensitivity to any of its components.
