Duramax S from Smith & Nephew is a sterile, highly absorbent wound dressing with a silicone-coated wound contact layer for the management of highly exuding wounds. Its multi-layered structure is designed for effective exudate management and reliably absorbs even viscous wound secretions. This supports controlled moisture management and reduces the risk of maceration of the surrounding skin.
The silicone-based wound contact layer adheres gently to the skin without sticking to the wound bed. This allows for atraumatic removal and repositioning of the dressing as needed. Its flexible design adapts to different body contours and is also suitable for hard-to-reach or mobile areas.
A water vapor-permeable cover film supports gas exchange and simultaneously serves as a barrier against external influences. Duramax S can be used under compression therapy and is intended for use with suitable secondary fixation.
